Curcumin, known as Turmeric too
It’s one of the main components of curry powder. In India and other parts of Asia, turmeric is used to treat many health conditions.
Why To Choose Us
A new study has found that the compound curcumin can reduce memory deficits caused by a higher lead content in the body.
The results of the study, published a few years ago in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, “show that lead significantly increases lipid peroxidation and reduces the viability of primary hippocampal neurons in culture.”
Not only can it help ease symptoms of depression, but it does so safely, without the potential to cause suicidal thoughts, weight gain and even changes in blood pressure and heart rate that can lead to shock and death — some of the many side effects which have been linked to Prozac.
It is the primary active ingredient in the spice turmeric. Researchers from the Centre found that it works better than diclofenac sodium, also known as Voltaren, at relieving pain in patients with RA. And the best part is that, unlike diclofenac sodium, curcumin does not cause any harmful side effects.
A recent study reported to USA Today via Reuters was done in Thailand. Somlak Chuengsamarn of Srinakhairnwirot University, led the research team that studied 240 prediabetic subjects.
The research team concluded that curcumin is a safe and effective deterrent against diabetes by protecting pancreas beta cells from inflammation and oxidation. Pancreas beta cells release the insulin hormone that regulates blood sugar levels.
